Tariff Uncertainty Spurs U.S. Buyers to Secure Malaysian Furniture
As tariff-related uncertainties loom in the second half of 2025, many American furniture buyers are accelerating their procurement from Southeast Asia—especially Malaysia. The MFC notes a noticeable uptick in U.S. orders for Malaysian-made furniture, driven by the desire to lock in pricing and secure production slots before potential cost increases or logistics bottlenecks.
Malaysian manufacturers—especially MFC members—are seeing increased interest thanks to the country's reputation for quality, consistency, and production flexibility. This surge reinforces Malaysia's growing importance as a strategic manufacturing hub for global buyers navigating a volatile trade environment.
